Barcelona continues to search for alternatives to strengthen its attack before the transfer market closes and, given the difficulties to advance for Julián Álvarez, has expanded its range of options. In this scenario, Lautaro Martínez has re-emerged as one of the names of interest at the Catalan club, although Inter quickly made it clear that they have no intention of parting with their captain.
The first to do so was the team's coach, Cristian Chivu, who made it clear that Lautaro is part of the team's plans for this season. "He is our captain. He is the player we are building something important around. I hold on to him and I believe he will stay for a long time. We want him to stay. That is my message", he assured.
The coach's stance received immediate backing from the management. Giuseppe Marotta, president of the club, was even more emphatic when asked about the possibility of a transfer and directly ruled out that the forward could leave the club in this market. "Lautaro is our captain and represents the history of Inter today, and there are no circumstances that could push him to leave. We shouldn't even be talking about it", he stated in an interview with DAZN.
