The countdown to Lionel Messi's last match with the Argentine National Team has begun, and the captain himself has given a new meaning to the farewell. With just over two weeks until the match against Benin, the Inter Miami forward unveiled the special jersey he will wear in his final appearance with the Albiceleste.
Through his official Instagram account, the Rosario star posted a video showing the back of the specially prepared outfit for the occasion, accompanied by the phrase: "Last match… A jersey for a lifetime". The design maintains the traditional sky blue as the predominant color and features a vertical white stripe in the center, while the name and number appear in gold.
The match will take place on Tuesday, October 6 at the Monumental Stadium, where Argentina will face Benin in a friendly corresponding to the FIFA Date. This will be Messi's last appearance with the national jersey after announcing his retirement from the National Team.
Tickets will go on sale this Tuesday, September 22 starting at 6 PM through Deportick, with thousands of fans ready to try to secure a spot at the Monumental. Prices range from $90,000 for general admission to a ceiling of up to $480,000 for premium locations.
