The president Javier Milei toured the facilities of Compañía Mega S.A. in Bahía Blanca this Thursday, where he learned about the company's projections following its incorporation into the Incentive Regime for Large Investments (RIGI).
During his trip through the Buenos Aires city, he also flew over the land where Pampa Energía will advance with the construction of a urea plant.
The visit to Compañía Mega included a tour of the company's industrial complex, dedicated to processing natural gas from Vaca Muerta. There, Milei held a meeting with the workers and participated in an institutional presentation about the company's expansion plans.

As part of the project incorporated into the RIGI, Compañía Mega plans to invest USD 365.4 million aimed at expanding its production capacity and strengthening hydrocarbon exports. According to the information released, the initiative will impact Neuquén, Río Negro, La Pampa, and Buenos Aires.
The expansion will increase the company's processing capacity by 27% and contemplates the generation of 770 jobs, including both direct and indirect positions.
The largest urea plant in the region
The President also observed from the air the land located next to the Piedra Buena Thermal Power Plant, where Pampa Energía plans to build a plant for urea production. The initiative involves an investment of USD 2.7 billion, following the approval by Milei's Government for the project's adherence to the RIGI.

The plant will have a production capacity of 2.1 million tons of urea per year starting in 2029. According to official information, it will become the largest urea plant in the region.
The production will be aimed at both supplying the domestic market and exporting. The project is expected to generate foreign currency amounting to USD 1 billion, accounting for both exports and import substitution.
The presidential tour in Bahía Blanca was attended by officials and representatives from the companies involved in the projects. Accompanying Milei were the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei; the Chief of Cabinet of Ministers, Diego Santilli; and the Secretary of Communication and Media, Fabián Fernández.
Also participating were the president and CEO of YPF, Horacio Marín; the president of Pampa Energía, Marcelo Midlin; and the CEO of Mega S.A., Tomás Córdoba.
