Mirtha Legrand surprised everyone on The Night of Mirtha (El Trece) by revealing that she was engaged to a young man from Córdoba before meeting Daniel Tinayre.
The confession came during a conversation with Mercedes Ninci, who asked her about a love story she experienced in Córdoba decades ago.
During the broadcast of El Trece, Mercedes Ninci asked the host if she had been in love with a Córdoba man who was a friend of her father.
“Yes, but I don't know if he was your dad's friend,” replied Mirtha Legrand. She then confirmed that the relationship had reached a formal stage.
“I was in love. I was engaged. There used to be engagement,” the host recalled in front of the table's guests.
The story dates back to 1945, when Mirtha Legrand met Julio Albar Díaz at the Jockey Club of Córdoba.
The relationship had a significant impact on the actress's life. In that context, she publicly expressed her intention to step away from cinema to start a family.
“I am happy, love has led us down its enchanted path,” she declared at that time.
The situation changed when she traveled to Buenos Aires to film Five Kisses. During that work, she met Daniel Tinayre, a director with whom she would later build one of the most well-known relationships in Argentine show business.
