The future of Neymar has once again become a topic of debate. Just a few months before his contract with Santos ends, the Brazilian forward acknowledged thathe has not yet decided whether he will continue at the club, seek a new destination, or put an end to his professional career.
During a charity auction organized by the Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr in São Paulo, the former Barcelona player was asked about his future and left all possibilities open. "I don’t know how much longer I will keep playing. I’m not thinking about stopping nor do I know when I will do it," he stated.
"I have a contract with Santos until December and I intend to fulfill it, honor the jersey in the best possible way, and then I will think about whether I stay here, leave, stop playing, or continue. I am feeling good physically and better and better on the field, and that is what matters," he added.
However, Neymar da Silva Santos, the father and representative of the player, reacted immediately and made it clear what his stance is on his son's future. "Neymar loves playing football. What else is he going to do? He still doesn’t have a medical degree, so he will keep playing," he replied with a laugh.

The statements come at a transitional moment for the forward. After playing in the 2026 World Cup, Ney announced his retirement from the Brazilian national team, so now he is focusing all his activity on Santos, the club where he started his professional career.
