The Nintendo Switch 2 will feature a new version that will arrive in Europe before the end of the year. The company confirmed that the model will incorporate changes to the battery to comply with the new European regulations, as well as minor modifications to its design.
The update will also extend to other accessories from Nintendo, such as the Switch 2 Pro Controller and the wireless controllers for Nintendo 64 and GameCube. For now, the company has not announced its launch in other markets.

According to Nintendo, the main change is due to the new European regulation on batteries. The new model will have a battery that is 1% smaller and user-replaceable.
Additionally, the included Joy-Con 2 controllers will also feature replaceable batteries.

Besides the modifications to the battery, the new Nintendo Switch 2 will weigh 10 grams more than the current version. So far, Nintendo has not shown official images of the new model nor reported other hardware changes.

Nintendo has not confirmed plans to market this revision outside of Europe.
