A club from Peru surprises the world with a shirt that brings together 1,000 sponsors

The Deportivo Municipal found an innovative way to face the complicated financial situation it has been going through for several years. The historic club from Lima launched a collective sponsorship campaign that unexpectedly became a phenomenon and allowed it to gather 1,000 sponsors on a single jersey.

The initiative arose in response to the economic problems affecting the institution and which, over time, also impacted the team's sports performance. Faced with the need to generate new income, the club's authorities implemented a strategy that quickly sparked the interest of numerous collaborators.

The project began in January of this year, when Deportivo Municipal decided to offer spaces on its jersey through a platform specially created for the campaign.

Each spot cost 60 dollars, equivalent to about 200 soles, and could be purchased by companies, merchants, entrepreneurs, and individuals interested in supporting the club.

The proposal received a positive response and, over the months, the institution managed to reach a historic figure: 1,000 sponsors joined the project and their names became linked to the team's apparel.

As a result of this initiative, a unique jersey was born, named the "jersey of the thousand sponsors", which began to be marketed once Deportivo Municipal's participation in the Copa Perú 2026 ended.

The design thus became a symbol of the club's ability to seek alternatives in the face of an economic crisis that has threatened its stability in recent years.
