The Minister of Defense, Carlos Presti, will travel to Córdoba this Wednesday to supervise the Combined Joint Exercise Daga Atlántica 2026, one of the most relevant military training instances between Argentina and the United States, where Special Forces from both countries train under the operational leadership of the Joint Special Operations Command of the Argentine Armed Forces to strengthen interoperability, readiness, and joint capabilities in the field of Special Operations.

The activity is part of a high-level military cooperation scheme between both countries and aims to improve coordination among elite units, standardize techniques, tactics, and procedures, and enhance preparedness for high-demand scenarios. In this type of exercise, capabilities related to complex operations, command and control, communications, joint coordination, and special deployments are worked on.

Presti emphasized that supervising the exercise in Córdoba also has personal significance. The minister recalled that he commanded the IV Airborne Brigade there, was a command instructor, and served in the Argentine Army's Special Operations Forces, a stage that defined a central part of his military career.

“I shared experiences with comrades who marked me forever. It was also the scene of countless parachute jumps and a fundamental stage of my military career,” said the official, highlighting that in that location he learned the value of effort, preparation, and the spirit of camaraderie that distinguishes the Armed Forces.

Daga Atlántica brings together Special Forces from Argentina and the United States in training aimed at consolidating jointness and cooperation with strategic allies. According to the information known about the exercise, specialized units from the Argentine Army, Navy, and Air Force participate, along with U.S. personnel with experience in special operations.

The exercise is part of the military capability recovery policy promoted by the Government of Javier Milei, which seeks to reposition the Armed Forces after years of budgetary neglect, material deterioration, and lack of strategic planning. Cooperation with the United States allows for the incorporation of doctrine, training, and top-level operational standards.

In this regard, Presti stated that Daga Atlántica reflects the spirit of men and women who prepare for the most demanding missions, surpass themselves every day, and seek to be ready when the Homeland needs them. For the minister, the exercise demonstrates the importance of human capital as the main strength of national defense.

“As a military officer, and now as Minister of Defense, it gives me immense pride to see our Armed Forces pushing themselves to the highest level, consolidating jointness, training alongside our allies, and demonstrating that our greatest strength remains our human capital, which supports the defense of Argentina,” he expressed.
