Christian Eriksen once again starred in a moment of great concern during a match with his national team. The Danish midfielder collapsed this Sunday during the friendly between Denmark and Ukraine, in a scene that inevitably recalled the cardiac arrest he suffered during the 2021 Euro Cup that shocked the sports world.

The incident occurred at the 63rd minute of play, when the Danish team was leading 2-1. Suddenly, Eriksen clutched his chest and fell to the ground, prompting an immediate reaction from teammates, opponents, and coaching staff, who urgently requested medical assistance.

Shortly after, the Danish Football Federation issued a statement to provide reassurance and make a decision regarding the match. "Christian Eriksen is conscious and doing well, given the circumstances. The match has been canceled", the organization reported through its social media.

Later, the team doctor, Morten Boesen, provided more details about the player's condition. "Christian is doing well and left the field on his own. From what I can see, the implantable defibrillator is working as it should. He was unconscious for a brief period, but regained consciousness very quickly and we were able to communicate with him right away. He will now undergo further tests at the hospital to determine what caused the incident", he explained.

This chilling episode recalls the one experienced by Eriksen himself years ago when he suffered a cardiac arrest during the match between Denmark and Finland in the 2021 Euro Cup. That afternoon of June 12 is etched in football memory when the Dane collapsed without any contact and had to be resuscitated on the field through CPR maneuvers and the use of an external defibrillator. The swift medical intervention was crucial in saving his life.

After that episode, specialists recommended the placement of an implantable cardioverter defibrillator, a procedure he accepted before starting a long recovery process. Against many predictions, he managed to return to the highest professional level first at Brentford and later at Manchester United, remaining active to this day.
