The Justice of Brazil authorized the opening of a third investigation against Fábio Luís Lula da Silva, known as "Lulinha" and the eldest son of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, for alleged influence peddling. The decision was made by magistrate André Mendonça at the request of the Federal Police and expands the inquiries into the possible use of his closeness to the Government to favor business interests in various public agencies.

With this resolution, Lulinha now has three open investigations in just a few days, all related to alleged actions taken before Brazilian state agencies. Investigators are trying to determine whether the president's son intervened in negotiations to facilitate meetings, contracts, or administrative authorizations for the benefit of businessmen and lobbyists with ties to the federal Administration.

According to information released by judicial authorities, this new investigation examines the possible mediation by Lulinha on behalf of lobbyist Antônio Carlos Camilo Antunes and businesswoman Roberta Luchsinger during negotiations with Brazilian government agencies. Investigators are seeking to establish whether there was influence peddling or any other crime arising from those actions.

The other two open cases are also linked to similar alleged actions. In one of them, it is being investigated whether Lulinha intervened to favor the commercialization of medicines made with medicinal cannabis through contacts with the Ministry of Health. Another inquiry seeks to determine whether he used his influence to facilitate meetings between businessmen and public officials with the aim of obtaining commercial benefits.

The opening of a third investigation occurs in a politically sensitive context for the ruling party, as Brazil is already immersed in the campaign for the general elections scheduled for October. The case adds pressure on Lula da Silva's Government and contributes to an electoral scenario marked by strong polarization between the ruling party and the opposition.

As the investigations progress, the Federal Police will continue gathering documentation, taking statements, and analyzing the contacts maintained by Lulinha with businessmen and public officials. It will be up to the Brazilian Justice to determine, once the instruction phase is concluded, whether there are sufficient elements to file a formal accusation or to archive the cases opened against the president's son.
