There’s a coach for a while: Carlo Ancelotti renewed his contract with Brazil until 2030.

With the 2026 World Cup just around the corner, Brazil made an important decision not only for its present but also for its future. The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed the continuation of Carlo Ancelotti as the coach of the national team until the 2030 World Cup, in a decision that reinforces the commitment to a sustained long-term process.

The Italian coach, who took over a year ago, had been working under a shorter initial contract, but his retention was a priority for the management. The renewal, which had been in the works since the beginning of the season, was officially announced through a social media post from the CBF: "Brazil and Carlo Ancelotti until 2030! Brazil continues under the leadership of one of the greatest coaches in history! Commitment, continuity, and trust to take the Brazilian National Team even further. The journey continues. Our dream too".

The post was accompanied by a video in which the coach himself expressed his commitment to the project. "I arrived in Brazil a year ago. From the first minute, I understood what football means to this country. For a year, we have worked to bring the Brazilian National Team back to the top of the world. But the CBF and I want more. More victories, more time, more work. We are pleased to announce that we will continue together for another four years", Ancelotti stated. He added: "We will stay together until the 2030 World Cup. I want to thank the CBF for their trust. Thank you, Brazil, for the warm welcome and all the affection".

For his part, the president of the organization Samir Xaud also celebrated the new agreement, calling the day "historic" and highlighting the importance of consolidating a competitive structure. "The renewal represents another step in our commitment to provide the national team with a solid, modern, and competitive foundation", he noted.

From an economic standpoint, the new agreement would not imply significant changes regarding the salary he was already receiving of around 10 million euros annually, although it does include improvements in performance bonuses, in line with the sports goals set for the coming years.

With this renewal, Brazil seeks to consolidate a stable cycle after several changes in leadership in the recent past and aims to regain international prominence under the guidance of one of the most prestigious coaches in world football.

Since his arrival at the end of May last year to the Canarinha bench, the Italian coach has led 10 matches (4 in the South American Qualifiers and 6 friendlies), with a record of 5 wins, 2 draws, and 3 losses, and a balance of 18 goals for and 8 against.
