The future of Paulo Dybala has been defined. After several weeks of negotiations and speculation about a possible departure following the expiration of his contract, the forward has reached an agreement to renew with Roma and will continue with the Italian team, a decision that also put an end to the hopes of Boca to incorporate him in this transfer market.
The new contract will bind the Córdoba native to the institution in the Italian capital until at least June 2027. According to specialized journalist Fabrizio Romano, the contract will include various bonuses linked to sporting performance and an option to extend it for one more season if both parties agree.

Dybala's continuity responds to both a personal and sporting decision. With Roma's return to the Champions League, the world champion prioritized continuing to compete at the elite level of European football, while coach Gian Piero Gasperini made it clear to the management that his intention was to keep the main figures of the squad.
According to Italian media, the coach would only accept the departure of a starter for an offer that is impossible to refuse. He even believes that Dybala can be decisive again after overcoming the injury that sidelined him for a good part of last season.
The renewal also comes amid a complex financial scenario for Roma, which is seeking to adapt to the economic demands imposed by UEFA. In this context, the club is considering parting ways with other players to balance its accounts, although the priority has always been to retain its stars.

The decision directly impacted Boca, which had been closely following the forward's situation for over a year with the hope of signing him as a free agent. Juan Román Riquelme, Leandro Paredes, and even coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena maintained various contacts with Dybala to try to convince him to return to Argentine football, where he has not played since mid-2012, when he wore the colors of Instituto.
However, the 32-year-old forward never hid that his priority was to remain in Europe as long as he felt he could compete at the highest level. With the renewal practically closed, his arrival at Xeneize will have to wait, and for now, it will remain a postponed desire.
