The case gained relevance after the PDI dismantled an alleged organization dedicated to drug trafficking. In the context of the raids, the agents identified a car linked to the case that is still registered in the name of Carlos Palacios.

Following this finding, the Prosecutor's Office seeks to determine how the vehicle ended up being used by the suspects and what its legal status was at the time of the operation.

Among the arrested individuals is the player's father-in-law, who is being investigated for alleged involvement in the criminal organization.

During the procedures, authorities seized drugs, cash, cell phones, and several vehicles, items that will be subjected to forensic analysis to advance the investigation led by the Public Ministry.

So far, authorities have not found any elements that directly link the footballer to the crimes being investigated. He has not been arrested or charged in the case.

Investigators are analyzing various hypotheses to explain why the car remained registered in the player's name. Among them, it is being evaluated whether the vehicle was loaned, sold without completing the corresponding transfer, or if there are other administrative circumstances that justify this situation.

Meanwhile, the Prosecutor's Office continues to gather evidence to establish the degree of responsibility of each of the detainees and clarify the functioning of the alleged organization dedicated to drug trafficking. For now, Carlos Palacios's name appears solely due to the registered ownership of the vehicle, without any formal accusation against him.
