This alarming scenario of civil anarchy materialized last Friday around 4:30 PM in the neglected neighborhood of Villa Tranquila, in the district of Avellaneda.
In an unavoidable display of the audacity with which the violent operate in the ruling party's stronghold, the savage armed aggression erupted on Estévez Street at 800, just eight blocks from the home of the province's own Minister of Security, Javier Alonso.
The spark that ignited the neighborhood barbarism began with a simple and routine urban order check: a sergeant on patrol on Centro Avenue identified a badly parked vehicle whose owner flatly refused to move it. In response to the defiance, the officer contacted the Citizen Care area by phone to request a municipal tow truck.
It was at that precise moment that a mob of hostile and marginalized neighbors gathered at the scene to besiege and physically attack the officer. The sergeant was violently thrown to the ground, being impudently stripped of her bulletproof vest and a magazine from her service pistol.
Amid the ongoing lynching, a patrol car quickly arrived as backup, but its two occupants were immediately outnumbered by the hostile crowd. In the midst of the brutal siege, a woman from the attacking faction managed to snatch the service weapon from the supporting sergeant, a Bersa 9 mm pistol.
