The president of Colo Colo, Aníbal Mosa, officially announced that Vozinha will be the new player for the club for the upcoming season. The experienced goalkeeper will travel to Chile in the coming days to undergo a medical examination and, once he passes the routine tests, he will be presented at the Estadio Monumental.

The executive assured that the goalkeeper meets the footballing conditions to join the squad and acknowledged that his incorporation also represents an important impact from a commercial and image standpoint for the institution.

After the official announcement, Colo Colo used its social media to welcome the Cape Verdean goalkeeper. The club published a welcome message in different languages accompanied by an image featuring the word "Aura," in reference to the phenomenon generated by the player during the last World Cup.

The presentation sparked a quick reaction among fans, who are eager to see the experienced 40-year-old goalkeeper in action.

Vozinha was one of the great stories of the 2026 World Cup thanks to his outstanding performances with the Cape Verde national team, which participated in a World Cup for the first time.

His performance began to attract international attention after the goalless draw against Spain in the group stage, a match in which he was one of the main figures by holding his team's goal against the eventual tournament champion.

Subsequently, Cape Verde drew 2-2 against Uruguay and closed the initial phase with another goalless draw against Saudi Arabia, results that solidified the goalkeeper's image as one of the revelations of the tournament.

The historic participation of the African team came to an end in the round of 32, where they were eliminated by the Argentina National Team led by Lionel Messi.
