Gerónimo Rulli could be at the center of one of the most important moves of his career. The Argentine goalkeeper is on the radar of Manchester City, which is considering his addition to compete for the position with Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The information was shared by transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano, who noted that the Argentine is the main candidate for the management to replace James Trafford, whose transfer to Leeds United is expected to be finalized soon.

Rulli's arrival would be part of a renewal of the Manchester City squad, which will begin a new era with Enzo Maresca as coach following Pep Guardiola's departure.

Although the English team already has Donnarumma as the starter, Trafford's potential departure forces the club to seek an alternative to fill the position. In that scenario, Rulli emerges as the first option considered by the coaching staff.

The 34-year-old Argentine goalkeeper currently defends the colors of Olympique de Marseille. His contract with the French club runs until June 2027 and, according to Transfermarkt data, his market value is estimated at 6 million euros.

Rulli arrived in French football in 2024 and has since established himself as one of the key players of the team. During the last season, he played 38 matches, a figure that demonstrates his consistency and experience at the highest European level.

The possible interest from Manchester City comes after a special season for Rulli with the Argentine National Team. The goalkeeper was part of the squad that reached the final of the 2026 World Cup, while he also shares in the history of the national team that won the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
