Despite the catastrophic Tuesday experienced by Republicans in Texas, some within the party see a glimmer of hope with the emergence of young conservative politicians like Brandon Gill, a Trump-supporting congressman representing a district on the border with Oklahoma.
Gill was one of the few incumbents in the Lone Star State who managed to keep his seat, even as voters in his area turned their backs on the Republican Party in the gubernatorial and Senate elections. For this reason, he is already being talked about as one of the new faces for the right in Texas and the country.

The young politician won the election in Texas's 26th Congressional District with 54.5% of the votes, compared to 44.2% for his Democratic rival Steven Shook, according to data collected by specialized sites. Gill emerged victorious despite voters in North Texas backing Democrat James Talarico in the Senate race and voting against Republican Governor Greg Abbott in his bid for a fourth term.
