The President of the United States, Donald Trump, confirmed on Monday that at least five people were arrested for vandalizing the reflecting pool at the Lincoln Memorial, located in downtown Washington DC, where Democratic Party activists also left death threats written.
"We had acts of vandalism. It's not massive damage, but we will probably have to drain the water and fix it again," Trump commented to reporters at the White House. "They went in there with a knife. I have just been informed by the Parks people that there are five people arrested and another five under investigation at this time; it's a sad thing."
The criminals vandalized the newly remodeled historic pond, located in front of the monument to former President Abraham Lincoln. They also destroyed the surrounding grass and damaged the interior surface of the structure. They left the inscription "86 47" painted on the site, a code used by the far left to call for Trump's assassination.

Trump promises 10 years in prison for the vandals
The famous water mirror of the U.S. capital, originally built in the 1920s, was remodeled at Trump's order in recent months. In 2012, the Obama administration attempted to restore it and spent over 34 million dollars on a project that took two years to complete and repaired little to nothing of the structure.
"A 300-foot-long cut has been made, illegal chemicals have been introduced into the water, and the beautiful new lawn was destroyed with a gigantic '86 47' chemically carved," Trump detailed, blaming former Obama FBI chief James Comey for the incident.
"Please remember that there is a 10-year prison sentence for the destruction, or even the attempt to destroy, such property, which will be enforced with the full weight of the law!," he added.
Among the activists arrested for the incidents is former Olympic athlete David Hearn, who was detained and charged with a misdemeanor for property destruction following the damage caused at the aforementioned Lincoln Memorial
