After speaking for more than two hours on the first night of the Republican midterm convention, President Donald Trump closed his party's summit with a much shorter and more concise speech. "I'm going to be a little brief. Because I spoke for two hours last night," the president commented amid laughter.
Trump used the approximately 25 minutes he was on stage to emphasize that, under Joe Biden's administration, the U.S. was the "laughingstock of the world", but fortunately, "we took that dark age of America and turned it into a golden age."
The president also used his speech to reiterate his promise that he will give every American citizen a $5,000 dividend if Republicans win the November elections and maintain control of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
"If we win the midterm elections, on the other hand, we will provide what we'll call a 'Trump dividend,' $5,000 for every adult citizen in our country, and we can do it because our country has never done better," Trump expressed.

The president highlighted that, during the two nights of the summit, the Republican Party filled the American Airlines Center, the home stadium of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, which has a capacity of approximately 20,000 people. "Look. Even in the highest stands, there is not a single empty seat," Trump pointed out. "Look at the upper tier. See, it's all full, even the luxury boxes are filled," he stated.
To close his rally and true to his humorous style, Trump had the audience swear to vote for Republicans in November. "So, please raise your right hand! I promise, before the greatest president in the history of the United States, who loves us so much he can't even breathe, that I will go out with my family, with my friends, and I will do it anyway: I don't care if I'm registered or not, I'm going to try to cheat as much as possible, just like they do," he joked.
