Trump is preparing to hold a giant rally in Washington for the 250th birthday of the USA.

President Donald Trump proposed on Saturday to scrap all scheduled musical acts to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States in Washington DC and organize a large rally instead, after nearly half a dozen of the scheduled artists pulled out of the concert series for fear of backlash from the left.

"I understand that the artists are 'chickening out' regarding their performance on Wednesday, so I’m thinking of bringing in the number one attraction from anywhere in the world, the man who draws much larger audiences than Elvis at his peak, and does it without a guitar; the man who loves our country more than anyone, and the man who some say is the greatest president in history (THE GOAT!), DONALD J. TRUMP, to take the place of these 'third-rate' and highly paid 'artists' and give a great speech, pushing the country forward as I have done since I became president!" the president said on Truth Social.

"We should have a giant MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN rally for the 250th anniversary, instead of having overrated singers that nobody wants to hear, whose music is boring and who, nonetheless, only complain," Trump added in a second post published Saturday night.

A giant rally for the national celebration

Last week, the event organization, Freedom 250, announced through its spokesperson Danielle Alvarez the lineup of artists who will perform at the National Mall between June 24 and July 10. It was also detailed that Trump would "kick off" the celebration with a speech at the opening ceremony.

Shortly after, contracted figures like Morris Day and the Time, Young MC, The Commodores, Martina McBride, and Bret Michaels canceled their participation after claiming to have been "duped" or expressing "other complaints."

While other musicians remain on the schedule - including Fab Morvan (of Milli Vanilli), Vanilla Ice, Freedom Williams (rapper from C+C Music Factory), and Flo Rida, who declared themselves "honored" to be part of this milestone - it is expected that Trump will scrap the musical shows to instead offer a historic rally of greater duration.
