The President of the United States, Donald Trump, reiterated this Friday that the Iranian regime will not receive funds from Washington under the memorandum of understanding agreed upon by both parties last week that ended hostilities on all fronts.
Through a couple of posts on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump dismissed the Democratic Party's criticisms of his administration's military campaign against Iran, asserting that Tehran emerged from the conflict significantly weakened.
"The war has weakened Iran!", wrote the president. "They no longer have an Air Force, Navy, anti-aircraft equipment, radar, or practically anything else, and yet the 'Dumocrats' say Iran is better off now than it was four months ago. Can you imagine getting away with something like that? How stupid can people be?".
Under the framework agreement reached by Trump with Iran, Hormuz reopens after months of hostilities. Additionally, a 60-day period is established during which negotiating teams will work to achieve a broader and more permanent treaty. The Islamic regime does not receive money from the U.S. nor are its assets unfrozen unless it first commits to not reactivating its nuclear program and completely destroys its stockpile of 60% enriched uranium.
"We did not meet out of desperation; Iran did," Trump clarified in a second post. "They are FINISHED! We will let the 60 days run out. They will not receive any money, not a dime!".

Vance detailed the main differences with Obama's agreement
For his part, Vice President JD Vance, who plays a key role in these negotiations, argued that the recent pact differs significantly from the nuclear agreement signed by Obama in 2015. He explained that the difference lies in the fact that the new framework prohibits uranium enrichment and is implemented after Iran's nuclear program has been destroyed.
"It is important to remember that, in 2015, Iran had developed a sophisticated nuclear weapons program with an accumulated stockpile. So the perspective from which we positioned ourselves as the United States was: 'You already have a very advanced nuclear program; we are going to bribe you with U.S. money to stop it,'" Vance analyzed.
"Our perspective —and the point from which we are starting now— is: 'We have already destroyed your nuclear program; therefore, if you promise and show verifiable ways not to rebuild it, then we are willing to grant you some relief from sanctions and things like that'", the vice president added.
"Obama's nuclear agreement allowed enrichment; ours will not", Vance noted. "Obama allowed the accumulation of reserves of material suitable for nuclear weapons. Ours, in fact, is leading to the destruction of that stockpile of enriched material," he clarified. "Obama's agreement gave them over a billion dollars in U.S. money. This agreement gives them zero dollars," he concluded.
