He revealed that he was offered 48,000 pesos (£105.8) to join a strategy against the drink produced by PiSA

The renowned medical content creator Mr. Doctor reported a smear campaign against the beverage Electrolit. According to his evidence, influencers from the medical and entertainment fields participated in the strategy.

The YouTuber stated that he was offered 48,000 pesos (1,058 pounds) to join the strategy, but he declined the deal.

Influencers under scrutiny

In a video posted on social media, Mr. Doctor revealed the names of the alleged participants. The list included @DrManon, @DrPolo, @DraAlondraMendizibal, @DraGloriaTuGine, @AdelaMicha, @Candynutri, @DraDany, @DrVic, and @DraAnaCecy.

These creators spread negative messages about Electrolit. They pointed out that the beverage—manufactured by PiSA—is registered as a medication and not as a soft drink, which would allow it to evade taxes and "deceive" consumers.

They also accused the product of having high sugar levels, of representing a "health risk," and of not displaying the warning labels that do appear on carbonated beverages.

"Hypocrites and misinformers"

Mr. Doctor strongly criticized those involved and called them "hypocrites" for spreading false information in exchange for money.

In his video, the medical influencer questioned the ethics and knowledge of those who participated in the campaign, noting that many present themselves as health specialists but "proved otherwise".

After the scandal, several of the influencers deleted their videos about Electrolit, which reinforced suspicions about the coordinated origin of the campaign.

The 48,000-peso offer

The YouTuber presented screenshots of a message sent by an alleged marketing specialist identified as Pedro. In it, he was offered 48,000 pesos (1,058 pounds) to upload a video criticizing Electrolit between September 26 and 28.

The message described the action as a "medical outreach" campaign and provided him with a detailed script of what he should say. The text stated that Electrolit "evades regulations" and "represents a health risk". It also noted that it contains 3.7 times more sugar than recommended by the WHO, and accused it of "unfair competition" and "spreading misinformation".

"They wanted it to look like medical information"

Mr. Doctor explained that the organizers' goal was to recruit creators with a medical profile, so that the messages would appear trustworthy and have a greater impact on the public.

Finally, he showed the full script he was sent, which matched the phrases used in the videos published by the other influencers. With this evidence, the doctor demonstrated that the criticisms of Electrolit were not spontaneous. They were part of a paid campaign to damage the brand's reputation.
