The Vice President Carolina Cosse made two trips abroad that were not officially publicized: her visits to New York to participate in events of the United Nations (UN), according to Búsqueda's report this Thursday the 30th.
These activities were not published on the Parliament's website nor on her personal social media.
The destination was New York, United States, to participate in events and forums of the United Nations (UN).
She delivered speeches at the international organization and held meetings with local authorities and Uruguayan citizens residing in that American city.
Lack of communication
No records or prior or subsequent notices were included on the institutional portal of the Uruguayan Parliament.
Nor were they on Cosse's own social media.
Advertising announcement
There were also no statements or references in the usual digital channels of the official.
The opacity was total. The Vice President's purpose was to hide her trips abroad funded with public money to avoid criticism, especially to avoid criticism on social media like X.
Cosse deliberately concealed that she traveled abroad with public money, and of course, she hid how much taxpayer money she spent on those trips, including the corresponding stay.
An honest and transparent government does not hide figures. None other than the Vice President of the Republic travels for several days abroad spending thousands of dollars of taxpayers' money, and the amount of the expense is concealed.
On the contrary, a transparent government publishes, straightforwardly, the figures of the expenses of the officials, which ultimately are paid with the tax money of Uruguayans.
