An unusual court case unfolds in Belfast, Northern Ireland, where a man accused of fraud assured justice that he intended to form an army to invade the United States and claim it for the deceased Elizabeth II.
The protagonist is Ryan Frost, a 36-year-old American citizen from San Antonio, Texas, who is currently seeking asylum in the United Kingdom.
The man was arrested last August after Justice detected suspicious behavior linked to an alleged fraud scheme.
As stated in the High Court, Frost faces charges of counterfeiting, fraud through misrepresentation and possession of items intended to be used in fraudulent maneuvers. Over a period of two months, the defendant allegedly filed multiple false lawsuits with the judicial system.

Judge McAlinden revealed that he had previous contact with the defendant, who represented himself in different judicial instances. At one of those hearings, Frost displayed a seal and stated that the object granted him jurisdiction over the magistrate himself

One of the most striking aspects of the case emerged from a lawsuit filed by Frost against an American lawyer. There, the defendant argued that he had been defrauded with money from a family estate. However, what was most surprising was the explanation of the destination he intended to give to those funds

“Mr. Frost explained that the reason he had the right to money and needed it was to form an army with the intention of invading the United States and recovering them for Queen Elizabeth II,” said Judge McAlinden, who remarked that this statement came after the death of the monarch.
Despite the unusualness of his statements, a psychiatric evaluation determined that the defendant has no clear signs of thought disorders or psychosis.

Prosecutor Charlene Dempsey maintained that she “appears to be intelligent, with no clear evidence of a thought disorder,” and clarified that mental health treatment cannot be imposed on her against her will
.
The defendant's behavior was also the subject of analysis by his defense. Attorney Michael Boyd described his client as a naive person, although he acknowledged that “there is no way to justify the strange and crazy statements
he has made.”
Frost had been released on bail, but later returned to prison after being accused of filing a new lawsuit, this time against the Wikipedia platform. Finally, the court re-granted him release under strict conditions

“His behavior is strange and administratively chaotic, but he has done no physical harm to anyone,” the magistrate concluded, while recognizing his right to continue with the asylum application process.
