Despite complaints from some neighbors, the Municipality of Villa Allende began placing gates in neighborhoods to combat insecurity.

This is a measure adopted by the municipality led by Pablo Cornet, which seeks to curb the crime that plagues some neighborhoods.

The decision is part of a municipal plan that seeks to reinforce security with night closures on key streets, mainly between 22:00 and 6:00 in the morning, to limit access used in criminal acts.

The system aims to reduce escape routes and complement the scheme with cameras, monitoring and patrolling.

In total, 13 gates will be installed. There will be more than one entrance and controlled circulation will be allowed.

“They will have about four or five entrances to about 18 entrances that neighborhoods have,” said Cornet.

The opening and closing of the gates will be carried out by a public security cell phone, although the mayor assured that there are personnel available 24 hours

a day to attend to any emergency.

“We have people on the street 24 hours a day,” he said.

The neighborhoods of Lomas Sud and Sugarloaf Mountain, the most affected by crime, are the first to have gates.
