In the coming days, the corrupt former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner will file an extraordinary appeal to the Federal Criminal Cassation Chamber with the objective of reaching the Supreme Court in the framework of the road case, where the confiscation of her assets was ordered.
However, it is expected that the strategy will hardly succeed in curbing the execution of the assets while the highest court analyzes the case.
In
accordance with the current doctrine in the Chamber of Cassation, the filing of this type of appeal does not suspend measures such as confiscation. This implies that the process of execution of assets could proceed in parallel, even if the defense tries to take the file to the highest court

The confiscation of Cristina's assets The judicial decision is based on the ruling of
Chamber IV of Federal Cassation, which confirmed the confiscation provided for in the judgment and ordered to proceed with the execution of the assets linked to the former president, her children Máximo and Florencia Kirchner, and businessman Lázaro Báez.
The court adopted this decision by a majority and supported what was previously established by the Federal Oral Court 2
.
According to the ruling, assets of illegal origin can be confiscated even if they were transferred to third parties or received by inheritance. This criterion made it possible to include within the measure both personal assets and those that, over time, changed ownership but that retain their origin in the
maneuvers investigated.
Within this framework, Justice ordered the advance of a wide range of assets, including properties, vehicles and cash.
The total amount fixed in the judgment amounts to $684,990,350,139.86, a figure that must be covered by the execution of the confiscated assets.Cristina Kirchner.
The detail includes a total of 141 properties attributed to Cristina Kirchner and Lázaro Báez, including the apartment located in San José 1111, where the former president is serving house arrest
.
To this are added 46 vehicles and various sums of money, including USD 4,664,000 corresponding to a safe deposit box in the name of Florencia Kirchner, USD 992,134 in a bank account and other amounts in pesos.
The measure also covers assets of companies considered key to the maneuver under investigation, such as Austral Construcciones and other firms linked to the economic framework under analysis. In this way, the scope of the confiscation covers both the personal assets of the convicted and that of the business structures involved
