Marcos Rojo was once again at the center of the controversy after his expulsion in Racing's 2-0 loss to River by a aggression against Lucas Martínez Quarta in the second half, in a match where he was also singled out for his responsibility in Facundo Colidio's first goal

.

The action came in a corner in favor of Racing, when Rojo threw a blow from behind against the millionaire defender. The referee Sebastián Zunino, after reviewing the play, did not hesitate to expel him. The soccer player reacted furiously, insulted the judge and retired under a hail of whistles from local fans

During the broadcast, Diego Latorre was forceful with his analysis: “He purposely throws his fist.

Rojo no longer learns, he pulls clearly at him. He throws a disloyal, ugly slap at him. Rojo is incredible, with the mistake in tow, with everything that the party means, the career, the profession, the responsibility he has. He has no defense. You don't win games when you're handsome

.”

The former soccer player also supported the arbitration decision and understood the public's anger: “There is nothing to reproach the referee. Quite rightly, people get mad at him. A blow from behind. Logically the audience crimped with Red

”.

In addition, he highlighted the impact that his behavior had on the team: “Rojo himself, with his mistake, put the team in a state of nerves and that way you can't play football well. Even within the Racing style, you can't play like that.”

It should be remembered that this is not the first time that Rojo has seen the red one against River: he had already been expelled at Monumental in 2021 and at La Bombonera in 2022, both times playing for Boca. This new sanction could leave him out, at least, of the next commitment against Aldosili and, depending on the arbitration report, also of the duel

against Barracas Central.
