Days after starring in a violent episode in the classic between Real Zaragoza and Huesca, Argentinian goalkeeper Esteban Andrada received a very harsh sanction. The Disciplinary Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) decided to suspend the former Boca for 13 games after the attack on Jorge Pulido at the close of the match. The punishment consists of one date for the expulsion and another 12 for the blow he inflicted on the rival defender, an action that the agency described as violent behavior

.

The incident occurred in the final minutes of a tense match due to the fight between both teams in the lower zone of the Spanish Second Division. After receiving the second yellow card for a push, Andrada reacted furiously: he ran to Pulido and threw a direct blow to his face, triggering widespread turmoil on the playing field

In the arbitration report, judge Damaso Arcediano explained that the goalkeeper used "excessive force" and that the attack caused a bruise on the Huesca soccer player's face.

In addition, he explained that the situation even forced the intervention of security forces to control the chaos that occurred after the incident

.

The episode generated strong repercussions in Spain and even Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, described the aggression as “barbaric”, demanding an exemplary sanction.

After the scandal, both Zaragoza and the soccer player himself publicly apologized. “I am very sorry, it was a hot reaction. I'm not a violent person,” said the Argentine goalkeeper, who also apologized to Pulido

for what happened.
Andrada expressed regret for his actions.

Although the Disciplinary Committee considered the action serious, it ultimately did not apply a major aggravating circumstance due to injury, so the sanction was fixed at 13 matches. In this way, the decision leaves Andrada practically out of the rest of the season and complicates his future at the Spanish club, which is fighting to avoid relegation to the third category
