Caulo considered that the joint work to organize Leo XIV's arrival has allowed for a rapprochement and strengthened communication channels between both institutions.
He explained that the institutional relationship is mainly articulated through the Foreign Ministry, although he highlighted the participation of other areas of the Government in the preparations.
In particular, he mentioned the work of the Ministry of Security with ecclesiastical authorities and representatives of the Vatican to organize all aspects related to the protection of the Pontiff.
“This time of joint work for the Pope's visit has surely brought us a little closer,” he affirmed.
The secretary considered that greater familiarity between the teams of both institutions could help deepen the bond and improve coordination in the future.
Faith in Argentina and the coincidences on artificial intelligence
Caulo also analyzed the growth of pilgrimages and religious celebrations in the country, especially the gatherings in Luján and San Cayetano. For the official, these manifestations reflect a deepening of the spiritual dimension of Argentines.
“Argentina has always had a disposition towards faith, especially in the interior of the country. We see it as something beautiful, as something good,” he expressed.
In this sense, he considered that the massive participation in the recent pilgrimages to Luján served as a preview of what could happen during the mass that Leo XIV will celebrate at the basilica.
Finally, he referred to the differences that may exist between the Pope's positions and President Milei's regarding the regulation of artificial intelligence. Caulo maintained that both perspectives can complement and engage in dialogue, especially when it comes to protecting human dignity.
He explained that the Government believes that the State should not be responsible for regulating artificial intelligence and that it sees this technology as an opportunity for the development of individuals, as long as their dignity is preserved.
“I believe these are views that can complement and dialogue with each other,” he affirmed.
Finally, the official expressed what image he hopes Leo XIV will take away from Argentina: streets filled with people, expressions of affection, and a society supporting his presence beyond political differences.
“I would like him to take away the image of all Argentines together, accompanying him and enjoying his presence,” he concluded.
