9th to 16th place: US$15 million
17th to 32nd place: US$11 million
33rd to 48th place: US$9 million
Reaching the final instead of finishing third represents an additional US$4 million. Becoming champion, on the other hand, means adding US$17 million more compared to the prize reserved for the runner-up.

As is the case in every World Cup, the money is not given directly to the players, but to the national associations. Each federation then decides how to distribute those funds among the squad, coaching staff, and other areas related to the competition.
In the case of AFA, that distribution had already been agreed upon with the players and coaching staff before the start of the tournament.

The difference with the edition held in Qatar 2022 is significant. On that occasion, Argentina received US$42 million for becoming world champion.
In this edition, the winner will receive US$50 million, which represents an increase of nearly 19% in just four years.
The Argentine National Team defeated England 2 to 1 and qualified for the final of the 2026 World Cup. With this result, Lionel Scaloni's team has already secured a prize of US$33 million from FIFA.
If Argentina manages to prevail against Spain in the final and becomes champion, AFA will receive US$50 million, the highest amount FIFA has awarded in World Cup history.

FIFA has significantly increased the financial prizes for this edition. In total, US$727 million has been allocated to the tournament, of which US$655 million will be distributed among the 48 participating associations based on their sporting performance.
This is the largest distribution of money in World Cup history, in line with the new format of 48 teams, which involved more matches and a significant increase in revenue from television, sponsorships, and ticket sales.
All qualified federations received financial compensation, regardless of their sporting results. Before the start of the tournament, each of the 48 teams received US$1.5 million for organizational and preparation expenses.

Additionally, FIFA established a minimum of US$10.5 million for all participating teams, ensuring that no association returned without a significant financial reward.
With the passage to the final, Argentina has already secured the prize reserved for the runner-up, which is US$33 million. If they manage to win the title against Spain, that amount will rise to US$50 million.

The winner of the third-place match between England and France will receive US$29 million, while the fourth place will take home US$27 million.
The prize distribution established by FIFA for the 2026 World Cup is as follows:
Champion: US$50 million
Runner-up: US$33 million
