President Javier Milei met this Thursday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in New York, on the sidelines of the General Assembly of the United Nations, in a meeting where both leaders reviewed the bilateral relationship and discussed new avenues of cooperation between Israel and Latin America.
During the meeting, Netanyahu praised the economic reforms implemented by the Argentine Government and described Milei as “one of the great leaders of our time.” “What you have done for the economy of Argentina is masterful, very difficult to achieve, with a lot of political resistance. But you have broken the cage and are giving freedom to the people,” affirmed the Israeli Prime Minister, according to a publication made by his office.
Netanyahu added that the results of the reforms might take time to be fully perceived and stated: “Anyone who understands anything about economics knows that there has never been a transformation like this.”
The meeting took place during Milei's last day in New York, where both leaders first held a bilateral meeting and later participated in a gathering with Latin American leaders.
In addition to the economic agenda, the leaders discussed deepening cooperation in security and economy between Israel and Latin American countries, particularly through the so-called Isaac Agreements.

According to the communication released by the Israeli Government, both analyzed the “positive strategic change for Israel” taking place in the region and the possibilities of expanding this initiative, promoted by Milei to strengthen ties between Israel and Latin America.
Netanyahu also thanked the Argentine leader for his support of the State of Israel and congratulated him for receiving the “Defender of Israel” award in New York, presented by the Yeshiva Darchei Torah. “You defend the truth. That is why you support Israel,” said the premier, who highlighted the political affinity existing between both governments.

Milei responded by thanking Netanyahu for his words and reiterated his recognition of the Israeli leader: “It is an honor for me to receive your words, being you one of the greatest leaders in the entire history of the world.”
The meeting marked the conclusion of the presidential agenda in the United States and reaffirmed the close diplomatic relationship currently maintained by Buenos Aires and Jerusalem, with a focus on expanding economic, security, and political cooperation between both countries and extending those ties to the rest of Latin America.
