The Minister of Economy, Luis “Toto” Caputo, announced the approval of two new projects within the Incentive Regime for Large Investments (RIGI), which involve a joint investment exceeding USD 3.000 million and aim to strengthen energy production, industry, and exports.

The announcement was made through his official account on the social network X, where he detailed that the Evaluating Committee gave the green light to strategic initiatives related to the development of Vaca Muerta and the natural gas value chain.

“The Evaluating Committee approved the entry of two new projects into the RIGI,” the official stated, confirming the incorporation of these investments into the scheme promoted by the Government of Javier Milei.

One of the projects involves the construction of a fertilizer plant by Pampa Energía, which will require an investment of USD 2.700 million. According to Caputo, the initiative will generate more than 3.500 jobs during its construction phase and will have a direct impact on the agro-industrial sector.

“The fertilizer plant of Pampa Energía, which will require an investment of USD 2.700 million and will generate more than 3.500 jobs during its construction. This high-impact project will add value to natural gas by producing granulated urea, which is a critical input for agriculture. The positive impact on foreign currency will exceed USD 800 million annually,” he expressed.

The second approved project corresponds to the expansion of Compañía MEGA, which will invest USD 360 million with the aim of increasing its production capacity of natural gas liquids. The initiative will add 1.500 tons daily and support the growth of activity in Vaca Muerta.

“Additionally, the expansion project of Compañía MEGA was also approved, which will invest USD 360 million to increase its production capacity of natural gas liquids by 1.500 tons per day, a key investment to support the growth of Vaca Muerta; it will generate 800 jobs and export USD 190 million per year,” the minister detailed.

With these additions, the RIGI continues to expand its reach as a tool to attract large-scale investments. “With these projects, the RIGI now totals 23 projects approved by the Evaluating Committee, with a committed investment of USD 49.000 million,” Caputo highlighted.

The approved initiatives reinforce the Government of Javier Milei's objective to promote energy development and the industrialization of strategic resources, generating new jobs and an increase in exports.
