In the final stretch of the 2026 World Cup, Diego Brancatelli sparked a strong controversy by issuing a controversial warning directed at Lionel Messi during his show on C5N. His statements, linked to an alleged support from the captain of the Argentine National Team for President Javier Milei, quickly went viral and unleashed a wave of criticism on social media.

Hours later, after becoming a trending topic and receiving thousands of messages against him, the ultra-Kirchnerist journalist came out to explain his remarks and claimed they were taken out of context.

It all began during a broadcast of his show when the K operator reacted to Lionel Messi's gesture of gifting a signed jersey to the President.

Visibly upset, the journalist stated: "With this, we are going to talk seriously now. Thank you, gentlemen... Messi loves Milei. Period, guys. It changes the whole equation."

He then elaborated on his stance with a phrase that quickly began circulating on social media.

"Now we know. Messi loves Milei. It's clear. Messi, you support this president. When this comes to light, when this falls, we will come looking for you."

The journalist's statements prompted thousands of users to make it clear that he could not threaten one of the most important figures in the country.

After the backlash, Brancatelli spoke on SQP (América TV), the show hosted by Yanina Latorre, where he claimed he is going through a difficult time due to the number of messages he received.

Diego Brancatelli asked not to be insulted on social media

"Today I am sad, I am angry, I am not well because there is really a lot of malice directed at me. There is a lot of bad faith and an exaggeration of taking everything to an extreme that is not appropriate," he expressed.

The journalist maintained that the video was shared without the complete context of the conversation they were having on the show. "They made a cut. The cut is complete, but it is taken out of context from what we were discussing," he stated.

Additionally, he claimed there is an intention to politically associate him with a stance contrary to the team led by Lionel Scaloni.

"There is an energy and a force to associate Kirchnerism with wanting Argentina to lose or that we cannot see Argentina happy, and that is false," the hypocrite stated.

In that sense, he emphasized that he shares the hopes of millions of Argentines to see the national team champion again.

"I want Argentina to be champion, like everyone else. I deeply wish for Argentina to be champion. I want to watch the game with my children, see them happy with the flag. There is nothing I enjoy more than the National Team," he concluded.

As if that weren't enough, in the same program Argenzuela, the kuka Brancatelli also attacked the national team's coach, Lionel Scaloni, whom he called "gorilla."

But the ultra kuka Branca didn't stop there; he added that no one on the national team "takes a political stand" and that he is tired of seeing how they only care "about their hair."
