Domestic workers: the new hourly wages that take effect in October 2026

The domestic workers will have new salaries starting in October 2026, following a 1.7% increase in the base pay.

The update also includes 50% of a non-remunerative sum granted in August, based on hours worked.

How much will domestic workers earn per hour in October

The category of general tasks personnel includes cleaning, washing, ironing, maintenance, and meal preparation.

• With withdrawal: $4,064.08 per hour and $498,582.06 per month.

• Without withdrawal: $4,337.53 per hour and $548,429.23 per month.

The category of assistance and care for individuals will have different salary values during October.

• With withdrawal: $4,337.53 per hour and $548,429.23 per month.

• Without withdrawal: $4,801.52 per hour and $605,050.00 per month.

In the case of caretakers, the category only includes the mode without withdrawal.

• Per hour: $4,337.53.

• Per month: $548,429.23.

How much will specific and supervisory categories earn

The specific tasks personnel includes cooks hired exclusively for that function, in addition to other tasks requiring special skills.

• With withdrawal: $4,580.80 per hour and $560,776.33 per month.

• Without withdrawal: $4,973.38 per hour and $618,187.89 per month.

The category of supervisor corresponds to those who coordinate and control the tasks performed by two or more people.

• With withdrawal: $4,805.82 per hour and $599,514.52 per month.

• Without withdrawal: $5,215.59 per hour and $661,702.46 per month.

When a person performs tasks from more than one category, they are classified under the one that is primary based on the activity they usually perform.

How salaries for domestic workers should be paid

Remunerations must be paid through crediting to a salary account in the name of the worker, unless they request to be paid in cash.

If payment is in cash, it must be made on business days, at the workplace, and during service hours.

• Monthly personnel: within the fourth business day after the end of each calendar month.

• Daily or hourly personnel: at the end of each day or each week, as agreed.

What additional payments can domestic workers receive

Domestic workers in certain areas are entitled to a 31% additional payment for unfavorable zones based on the salary reported by the employer.

This additional payment applies to employment relationships where the workplace is located in La Pampa, Río Negro, Chubut, Neuquén, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica, and the South Atlantic Islands, as well as in the Partido de Patagones.

An additional payment for seniority of 1% for each year worked for the same employer is also applicable. To calculate it, only the years of service corresponding to that employment relationship are considered.

What changes in salaries in October 2026

The Resolution 6/2026 of the National Commission on Domestic Work established a 1.7% increase compared to the values in effect in September.

Additionally, starting in October, 50% of the non-remunerative sum granted in August will be included, which varied between $8,000 and $20,000 depending on the number of weekly hours worked.
