Anti-Semitism registered a worrying increase globally during 2025, with figures that set off alarm bells in the international community. According to Tel Aviv University's annual anti-Semitism report, 20 Jews were killed in four attacks in different parts of the world, the highest number in more than
three decades.The study, based on data from security forces, Jewish communities and field surveys, also detected hundreds of violent incidents in at least 72 countries, including physical assaults, vandalism, threats and online harassment.
Rising violence and global expansion
The report warns that, in the post-war context in Gaza, violence against Jews in the West intensified significantly. Although there was an initial peak after the attacks of October 7, far from diminishing, levels of aggression remained high during 2025
.Countries such as Canada recorded particularly high numbers, with around 6,800 incidents, while the United Kingdom reached 3,700 cases. In Australia, one of the most serious episodes was an attack during Hanukkah near Sydney, where
15 people died.In Europe, the situation also raises concern: Belgium reported increases in both incidents and aggressions, while in France and Germany, although the total number of cases decreased slightly, violent episodes continued to be significant.

the United States, cities such as New York and Chicago showed a slight drop in the total number of incidents, although towards the end of 2025 there was an uptick, especially in violent events. Experts warn that the numbers may be underestimated, as many minor cases or situations of online harassment go unreported
