The national Government explained the reasons behind Resolution 42/2026 of the National Institute of Industrial Technology (INTI), which ordered the cancellation of nearly 1,000 technical services that the agency carried out. The Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation, Federico Sturzenegger, explained why progress was made with the cut: it is not a matter of closing the institute, but rather a restructuring to eliminate benefits without real demand or that could already be solved in the private sector

The axis of the decision, the Government explained, involves ordering the use of resources and avoiding overlaps. For years, INTI maintained services that, in many cases, the market was already able to offer. Under this logic, state intervention not only ceased to be necessary, but it also ended up displacing potential private competitors
. The minister denied that the entity will be eliminated. In this framework, Sturzenegger argued that the dismantled services functioned, in fact, as covert subsidies funded by all taxpayers.
That is, benefits offered at artificially low prices that meant that the real cost would be absorbed by the State. The measure aims to correct this distortion and return these activities to the private sphere

The Government also focuses on the impact that this scheme had on productive dynamics. With a State offering tests, certifications or controls at subsidized securities, the development of private suppliers was limited. The result was a less competitive system, with fewer options and greater dependence on a public body.
The resolution states that the cancellation of these services has been in effect since their publication, although the commitments already made will be respected. In addition, a transition is planned to close these benefits without affecting ongoing processes and to preserve those capacities that are considered strategic within the institute

The Government emphasized that it is not eliminating the INTI, but redefining its role. The idea is to concentrate it on key functions and remove those tasks that are improper, redundant or sustained by a
covert capitalism of friends.
The objective is the same that has distinguished liberal management in every area: to lower costs, to eliminate obstacles and to allow the industry to grow without interference, with more competition, more investment and a State that stops hindering the productive sector.
