The national government called on the National University of La Plata (UNLP) to stop holding a political event in a secondary school in its orbit, where Kirchner leaders planned to promote the slogan “Cristina Libre” within an establishment attended by minors.

The warning was formalized by the Undersecretary of University Policy, Alejandro “El Profe” Álvarez, who sent a note to the rector Fernando Tauber demanding that he take measures to prevent the activity, considering that it could violate current regulations in the educational field.

As detailed in the official communication, the event —released by the Patria Institute— was to be held at the Rafael Hernández National School and had the participation of the mayor of La Plata, Julio Alak, together with other Kirchner leaders, which set off alarms for the use of a school environment for political and partisan activities

.

In this context, from Nación they pointed out that this type of activity could imply a violation of current regulations, since secondary schools must especially protect students from any form of political-party indoctrination.

In addition, the document warns that carrying out the act could even constitute an apology for the crime, depending on the judicial situation of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, whose conviction for corruption was

ratified in all instances.

For this reason, the Undersecretary urged the UNLP authorities to take immediate measures to prevent the possible commission of irregularities and ensure compliance with current regulations in the educational field

.

The note also notes that, although universities have autonomy, their authorities are still responsible for the proper functioning of the institutions under their orbit, especially when it comes to establishments where minors attend.
