The Government of Javier Milei is moving forward with the acquisition of 235 Stryker armored vehicles, as part of the modernization and re-equipment process of the Armed Forces.
The agreement was formalized through the signing of the LOA (Letter of Offer and Acceptance) with the United States, led by the Minister of Defense, Carlos Presti.
The ministry indicated that the operation includes economically favorable conditions for the country and represents a new step in the recovery of operational capabilities.
The signature
The vehicles to be incorporated correspond to different configurations intended to fulfill specific functions within the Army.
These include infantry transport vehicles ICVV M1256, those designated for medical evacuation MEVV - M1133A1, command vehicles CVV - M1251A1, and fire support command vehicles FSVV - M1131A1.
According to the statement released by the Ministry of Defense, the arrival of these units will allow for an increase in the number of available Strykers and progress towards a larger mechanized structure.
The new vehicles will join the first eight units already incorporated, thus deepening the modernization process initiated by the Army.

The Defense Ministry highlighted the characteristics of these systems, defined as high-mobility, protection, technology, and deployment-capable 8x8 armored vehicles. The incorporation of a significantly larger number of units will strengthen operational capacity in high-demand scenarios.
The goal set by Milei's Government is for the Army to have a more complete and interoperable mechanized force, with better conditions for conducting deployments safely, quickly, and effectively.
A new step in military re-equipment
The Ministry of Defense presented the operation as a milestone in the recovery and modernization of the Army's operational capabilities, within the re-equipment policy of the Armed Forces promoted by Javier Milei's Government.

In this regard, the statement emphasized that the agreement also constitutes a new outcome of the strategic relationship between Argentina and the United States. The acquisition will allow for the incorporation of modern means and expand the tools available for fulfilling the functions assigned to the military instrument.
“This is a milestone in the recovery and modernization of the Army's operational capabilities, through an operation with economically favorable conditions for our country,” highlighted the Ministry of Defense.
The ministry also stated that the process of incorporating the Strykers will increase operational readiness and recover necessary capabilities to effectively fulfill the mission of the Armed Forces.
With the incorporation of the 235 new vehicles, Argentina aims to make a leap in the scale of its mechanized capabilities and consolidate a force with greater mobility, protection, and deployment capacity.
