After the 1-0 defeat against Rosario Central at the Monumental, the football crisis of River has had repercussions off the field. In addition to the justified discontent of the fans regarding the team's current situation, the club will now face a significant financial penalty after Eduardo Coudet and the players did not provide statements before or after the match.

The decision, made by the management, meant that there were no television interviews beforehand, statements from players after the match, press attention in the mixed zone, nor the usual press conference from the coach. As a consequence, the Professional League will apply the fines stipulated in the regulations.

The most significant penalty corresponds to the absence of Coudet at the post-match press conference, equivalent to the value of 250 general tickets. In addition, there are two other fines: one for not designating a player to make statements before the match started, equivalent to 100 general tickets, and another of 200 general tickets for the lack of player testimonies at the end of the match. Taking the current value of a general ticket (40,000 pesos) as a reference, the three infractions represent an amount close to 22 million pesos.

This is not the first time that the Millionaire has received a sanction of this type in the Clausura Tournament. In the first match, after the defeat against Barracas Central, Ariel Broggi, who managed the team due to Coudet's suspension, also did not attend the mandatory press conference, which resulted in another fine for the institution.

In parallel to these penalties, the current sporting situation continues to be a cause for concern. The Band has accumulated five consecutive defeats in national tournaments (3-2 against Belgrano in the final of the Apertura Tournament, 3-1 against Aldosivi in the round of 32 of the Copa Argentina, and 1-0 against Barracas, Gimnasia, and Rosario Central in the Clausura Tournament), matching a negative record that has not been seen since 1911, and the team's performance has generated strong questioning from the fans towards the coaching staff. Despite this context, Coudet remains convinced that he can turn the situation around and has already conveyed that message to both the management and the players.

River's next challenge will be this Saturday, when they visit Tigre for the fourth round of the Clausura. Additionally, in August they will face a busy schedule that will include the round of 16 of the Copa Sudamericana against Independiente Santa Fe and new commitments in the local championship, in a crucial stage to try to change the team's image.
