Governor Raúl Jalil and the Secretary General of the Federal Investment Council (CFI), Ignacio Lamothe, signed a new agreement in Buenos Aires to increase funding by $450 million aimed at promoting sustainable tourism and cultural industries in Catamarca.

The addendum to the original agreement will strengthen various development and promotion policies for the province, with a special focus on tourism and cultural activities as engines of economic growth.

The new financing will also play a central role in the realization of the Expo Catamarca, one of the main institutional and economic events planned for this year in the province.

Expo Catamarca: a bet on productive development

The Expo Catamarca will take place from September 10 to 12 at the Catamarca Fairgrounds and will feature a call for representatives from various sectors of the economy.

The meeting will bring together operators and leaders from the business, tourism, commercial, industrial, and mining sectors, with the aim of generating new business opportunities, exchange, and promotion of the province's productive activities.

The Catamarca government presents the event as the most important institutional and economic exhibition of the year, in a context where the province seeks to strengthen its positioning and attract visitors and investments.

The additional contribution from the CFI will support the development of this initiative and deepen actions related to tourism and cultural promotion.

Catamarca seeks to establish itself as a tourist destination

The agreement signed by Jalil and Lamothe also reflects the continuity of policies aimed at positioning Catamarca as a tourist destination of growing relevance at the national and international levels.

The province offers a range based on its landscapes, historical heritage, culture, and proposals related to nature tourism, sectors that have gained greater prominence in recent years within the provincial promotion strategy.

In this sense, the agreement aims to create conditions for sustainable tourism to become a tool for economic development and opportunity generation for different regions of Catamarca.

The support from the CFI will allow for an increase in available resources for these policies and support projects related to both tourism activities and cultural industries.

The CFI and Catamarca deepen joint work

The signing of the new agreement consolidates the relationship between the Government of Catamarca and the Federal Investment Council, an organization that works alongside the provinces on initiatives aimed at productive and economic development.

The addendum establishes an increase of $450 million in the funds allocated by the province for the actions contemplated in the original agreement.

The provincial government highlighted that there is a point of agreement with the CFI regarding the need to deepen development policies and enhance sectors capable of generating economic activity.

With Expo Catamarca as one of the main events on the agenda, the province seeks to leverage the momentum to strengthen its tourism, cultural, and productive profile while projecting its attractions to new markets.

The initiative thus aims to consolidate Catamarca as a destination with greater national and international visibility, combining tourism promotion, cultural development, and participation from strategic sectors of the provincial economy.
