President Javier Milei participated this Monday on the streaming channel Neura, where he defended the economic direction of his administration and assured that the Government will continue deepening liberal reforms to consolidate the country's growth.

“We will continue deregulating and opening up the economy,” Milei stated during the interview, in which he also expressed optimism about Argentina's economic future. He explained that the macroeconomic stabilization process will allow for accelerated growth and attract new investments. “Argentina will continue to grow and we could be doubling the GDP in 10 years,” he asserted.

The president also emphasized that one of the main objectives of his administration is to rebuild trust in the country after decades of interventionism and recurring crises generated by Kirchnerism. “It is important that we are signaling that Argentina has begun to respect private property,” he noted.

In this context, Milei explained that lowering inflation and reducing country risk will be key to consolidating economic recovery. “We are working hard to lower country risk,” he assured, while highlighting that the fiscal balance achieved by his Government was crucial for stabilizing the economy.

During the conversation, the President also took the opportunity to differentiate himself from the government of Mauricio Macri and rejected comparisons promoted by some political and media sectors. “The Rental Law was approved by Macri's government. We eliminated that atrocity. This Government is nothing like Macri's,” he declared.

Furthermore, he stated that the Cambiemos administration did not advance with the structural adjustment that the country needed. “Macri inherited a fiscal deficit and did not make the adjustment; he passed it on to the market. We put the fiscal issue in order from day one,” he affirmed.

Milei also spoke about the evolution of salaries and pensions amid the process of inflation deceleration. He explained that the strong monetary issuance and inherited distortions still generate lagged effects, although he assured that the situation will begin to reverse more quickly.

“The real salary has stopped falling and the working capital is being restored,” indicated the head of state. Regarding pensions, he added: “The pension formula has a lag; now they will rise more than proportionally to inflation.”

Finally, the President again criticized the Kirchnerist model and blamed decades of populism for the deterioration of the Argentine economy. “Prices were distorted; with that model, we were doing quite poorly. The only ones it favored were the privileged businessmen who were in collusion with the corrupt,” he expressed.

In one of the harshest phrases of the interview, Milei again targeted former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. “The only way to explain that model is that something strange was going on; it’s no coincidence that the convict is where she is”.
