The Ministry of Defense Lieutenant General Carlos Presti, under the administration of President Javier Milei, officially recognized the professionalization of the human capital of the Armed Forces through the incorporation of a title supplement into the salary regime of military personnel.
According to the Official Statement, “By decision of President Javier Milei and Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Alberto Presti, the title supplement is incorporated into the salary regime of military personnel through DNU 473/2026, as recognition of academic training and the professionalization of the Armed Forces.”
The measure represents strong support for the training and efforts of uniformed personnel. As the document highlights: “This supplement recognizes the effort of those who train, perfect themselves, and add value to National Defense. Recognizing the academic training of military personnel strengthens the entire Force.”
The benefit applies to all active or retired military personnel who can prove academic training related to their tasks, and it will also extend, when applicable, to family members entitled to a pension.
“The human capital is a priority of the management vision of the Ministry of Defense and a central dimension for building real, sustainable capacities that align with the current challenges of National Defense,” states the communication.
