A new digital platform has begun to circulate strongly on Colombian social networks and is already generating repercussions in the environment of President Gustavo Petro. It is "El CronoPetro," a website that combines a countdown to the end of the current presidential term with an extensive survey of statistics, political scandals, and management results attributed to the leftist government.
The portal not only informs how much time is left until the change of command scheduled for August 7, 2026, but also compiles indicators on various areas of government and a database of controversies that marked Petro's administration.
The website that exposes the disaster of management
On the homepage of the site, a countdown appears alongside the date of the next Colombian president's inauguration. Below, the platform presents a critical balance of the current government under the title "Four years of political turbulence come to an end", where it lists a series of episodes it considers representative of the term.
Among the main issues addressed are the security situation, the healthcare system, public finances, and the growth of the state apparatus. Each section includes graphs, indicators, and references to journalistic sources, public agencies, and research centers.
One of the most notable sections is the one referring to the "Total Peace" policy, a central banner of Petro's management. According to the data displayed on the platform, homicides recorded during the period 2022-2025 would have exceeded the levels observed in previous administrations and 2025 would have closed as the most violent year of the last decade.
The section dedicated to the healthcare system states that legal actions taken by citizens to demand medical attention have significantly increased in recent years, while the economic section points to the deterioration of fiscal accounts and the increase in state spending.
The failure of Petro's pacification policy
Another of the most striking segments is the so-called "Chronicle of Scandals", an interactive database that classifies dozens of episodes according to categories such as corruption, security, economy, institutionalism, and politics. It includes topics related to the case of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD), attempts at constitutional reform, conflicts with the press, questioning of officials, and various controversies that affected the ruling party during the term.
The initiative arises as the Colombian government enters its final months of management and while different political sectors begin to position themselves ahead of the elections that will define Petro's successor.
