The Argentine ice cream shop Lucciano’s will invest USD 12 million during 2026 to execute one of the most ambitious expansion plans in its history, with the opening of 60 new locations, strengthening its industrial capacity, and developing new product lines that will allow it to reduce its dependence on the seasonal consumption of ice cream.

Of the planned openings, 40 will be located in Argentina and another 20 will be distributed across various international markets. The brand, which originated in Mar del Plata, is preparing to enter Morocco, will continue to grow in Spain, and will also open new branches in Chile and Uruguay.

Additionally, the company is in negotiations to enter Brazil, one of the most important consumer markets in the region. “Our goal is to keep growing. We will continue to invest heavily,” stated Christian Otero, CEO and co-founder of the company.

More production capacity in Mar del Plata

A significant portion of the investment will be allocated to expanding the industrial plant that Lucciano’s has in Mar del Plata, from where it supplies its network of branches and develops products for its new business units. The project includes the construction of new buildings, the addition of machinery, and the implementation of operational improvements to increase production capacity.

The company also aims to expand its offerings beyond its distinctive ice cream. At the beginning of 2026, it invested nearly USD 1 million to expand the production of alfajores, cones, and premium chocolate products made with Belgian chocolate imported directly by the company.

This diversification aims to generate sales year-round and advance in channels such as e-commerce, gift shops, and takeout products. Otero also anticipated that the company is working on new launches and that it will present an innovative product within the ice cream market during the year.

A growth of 78.5% during 2025

The plan is supported by the strong expansion recorded by the company over the past year. In 2025, Lucciano’s grew by 78.5% year-on-year, driven both by the opening of new branches and by the increase in operations at existing establishments.

Currently, the chain has more than 100 points of sale, of which more than 90 are located in Argentina. If the opening schedule is completed, it could approach 170 operational establishments by the end of 2026. The company directly employs about 600 people, while the number exceeds 1,000 when including workers linked to franchises.

From a first family ice cream shop in Mar del Plata to its entry into Europe and the United States, Lucciano’s has become one of the Argentine brands with the greatest international projection in the sector.
