The Minister of Economy, Luis Caputo, held a meeting with authorities from the World Bank to analyze new financing possibilities aimed at strategic sectors and projects in Argentina for 2027, while the Government is simultaneously advancing with a scheme that could mobilize around USD 1 billion through credits backed by multilateral organizations.
The meeting was attended by Susana Cordeiro Guerra, Vice President of the World Bank for Latin America and the Caribbean; Martín Tolivia, Undersecretary of International Financial Relations; and Daniel Pierini, Alternate Executive Director of the organization.

“We had an excellent meeting,” Caputo assured after the meeting. The head of the Ministry of Finance added that “the World Bank's support for Argentina and the economic policies of our country is total” and confirmed that alternatives for financing in 2027 were discussed during the meeting.
This approach is part of the economic team's strategy to expand available credit sources and achieve better financial conditions through the backing of international organizations.
In this context, FONPLATA approved on Wednesday a guarantee of up to USD 250 million in favor of Argentina, aimed at supporting operations related to the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI). The operation will be executed by the Ministry of Economy, through the Secretariat of Finance.
This is an instrument designed to partially cover the risk of a sovereign debt operation and, in this way, facilitate access to private financing under better terms and costs, as explained by the organization itself.
The mechanism replicates a strategy that the Government has already begun to structure with CAF - Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, whose board approved in July another guarantee of up to USD 250 million to expand Argentina's access to new sources of financing.

From this coverage, the economic team is in discussions with international financial entities to secure another USD 500 million. If both operations are realized, the Government could mobilize around USD 1 billion through loans backed by CAF and FONPLATA.
The scheme allows the Executive to seek external financing using the highest credit rating of multilateral organizations to reduce the perceived risk by creditors and improve the conditions of Argentine operations.
