River's nursing staff: after the defeat against Gimnasia, the injuries of Acuña, Arrambarri, and Correa were confirmed

River is going through a complicated moment both on the field and physically. After the 1-0 defeat against Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata in the second round of the Clausura Tournament, the medical staff confirmed the initial diagnosis of the three players who had to leave the field due to various injuries: Marcos Acuña, Mauro Arambarri, and Ángel Correa.

The main concern is the condition of the left-back. "Huevo" felt a sharp pain in the back of his right thigh midway through the second half while trying to prevent a ball from going out of bounds. The world champion immediately left the match and was replaced by the young Facundo González.

The initial tests determined that he suffered a muscle strain in the right hamstring, although the medical staff will conduct a new evaluation to confirm if there is a tear and to establish the severity of the injury. If this diagnosis is confirmed, Eduardo Coudet could lose one of his starters for several weeks.

The possible absence of the former Sevilla player also raises the need to acquire a left-back in this transfer market. River continues to negotiate with Olympiacos for Francisco Ortega, although the economic difference between both clubs still prevents closing the deal.

Another player who also ended up with a confirmed medical report is Arambarri. The Uruguayan midfielder received a stomp on his left ankle during the first half and could not return for the second half. The tests revealed that he suffered a sprain in that joint, so his recovery will be monitored daily to determine when he can return to play.

Meanwhile, Correa provided some reassurance in a complex situation. The forward, who was a starter for the first time since joining the club, left the match with discomfort after a collision with Enzo Martínez and exited the stadium with ice on his right leg.

Finally, the diagnosis confirmed a trauma to the right thigh, an injury that, at first, is not serious, although he will continue to be monitored in the upcoming training sessions.

The injuries worsen River's delicate situation, which started the Clausura Tournament with two consecutive defeats, without scoring goals, and is also reeling from the recent elimination in the round of 16 of the Argentine Cup against Aldosivi. In this context, the commitment next weekend against Rosario Central at the Monumental appears to be a decisive test for the team and for the future of "Chacho" Coudet at the helm of the Núñez squad.
