The ultra Kirchnerist governor Axel Kicillof closed the Federal Plenary of the Movement Right to the Future in Avellaneda on Saturday with a speech lasting over an hour in which the name of the president, Javier Milei, took center stage.
So much so that the Buenos Aires governor mentioned the Argentine president 35 times during his speech, while combining criticisms of the national government with definitions about the internal dynamics of Peronism and signals for the upcoming 2027 elections.
The repeated references to Milei set the tone for a presentation in which Kicillof sought to position his space as an alternative to the ruling party.
At the beginning of his speech, he highlighted the growth of the Movement Right to the Future. "On this Peronist day, something new is in the air, something that is growing, something that is, as it should be, being organized. That’s why we came", he stated.
He then presented one of his definitions regarding the internal Peronist dynamics: "After so much suspicion, it was simpler; new songs are composed collectively and are composed from the bottom up, comrades".
Criticism of Milei's Government
Kicillof divided his intervention between questioning the President and proposing ideas for building a political alternative.
Referring to the current situation, he stated: "We are not going to get out of this situation with magic tricks or improvisations. A lot of participation is needed, many meetings, and today we are taking a very important step for that to happen."

The governor also called for expanding the opposition's construction and rejected the idea that it could be defined exclusively through agreements among leaders.
"That majority will not arise by magic, nor will it come from a secret negotiation among leaders, from a deal among the elites, or from a backroom deal away from society. We have to build it together, from the bottom up, in broad daylight and facing society," he asserted.
Reference to Cristina Kirchner and the electoral message
In that same vein, referring to the corrupt former president Cristina Kirchner, he added: "I am not interested in a remote-controlled construction".
The closing of the speech had an explicit electoral tone. Kicillof emphasized the need to build a national alternative in front of Milei's government, although he did not present a single proposal or self-criticism of his disastrous model, which ended in 2023 with hyperinflation and on the brink of the worst crisis in history.
"It is necessary to build now, in addition to the opposition, a national option, a way out, a better place to go. That’s why you can count on me so that next year Argentina has an alternative that allows us to end this model, but above all that allows us to start a different stage," he concluded.
