Perplexity expanded its Personal Computer tool to Windows, allowing computers running the world's most used operating system to become a local artificial intelligence assistant. The company had already launched the Mac version in April.
Personal Computer for Windows works as a "general-purpose digital worker" capable of accessing local files and applications to perform tasks on behalf of the user, such as creating documents or updating spreadsheets.

How Personal Computer Works on Windows
This launch builds on the integrations of Personal Computer that Perplexity had already developed for Microsoft 365 applications and for the video conferencing software Teams, presented in May.
According to the company in its press release, the goal of the new version is to close the gap that remained by operating directly within the Windows environment. Perplexity noted that a significant portion of business work occurs locally on Windows devices, "out of the reach of AI."
The company indicated that now Microsoft users can ask Computer to work with local files, Office 365, and the web from one place, as the tool was designed for the typically messy way corporate work is handled on local machines.
