In a high-intensity encounter that ended 1-1 between Rosario Central and Newell’s, Ángel Di María and Matías Cóccaro starred in one of the hottest moments of the afternoon, with taunts, gestures, and a direct reference to the controversial title won by Canalla in 2025.
Everything happened during the second half, when Central was leading 1-0 thanks to Gastón Ávila's left-footed shot. After receiving a foul from Lucas Carrizo, Di María was left lying on the grass and was assisted by his teammates. Cóccaro approached, though not precisely to help him: he demanded that he get up and implied that he was wasting time.
The exchange quickly heated up. After a contact to the face and some words, the world champion responded with a provocation. Still on the ground, Fideo stretched his shirt to show the Rosario Central badge and accompanied the gesture with a smile.
