The repudiated Spanish streamer Joaquín Domínguez Portela, known as El Xokas, attacked Argentina again just weeks after publicly apologizing for rubbing a national team jersey on his genitals during a live stream.

After the World Cup final, the content creator claimed that Argentinians “deserve to be insulted” for allegedly being favored by FIFA and for “almost stealing” the decisive match against Spain, despite having been clearly harmed by the impartiality of the refereeing.

The statements deepened the campaign of provocations that El Xokas maintained against Argentina during the competition. His accusation, moreover, ignored that the final was marked by refereeing decisions heavily questioned by the Argentine side.

The match was officiated by a fully Slovenian trio, led by Slavko Vinčić and of the same nationality as Aleksander Čeferin, president of UEFA. Spain ended up winning against the national team in a match riddled with controversial calls that generated strong complaints among Argentine fans.

The context was also influenced by the war between UEFA and FIFA. Čeferin did not attend the final in protest against Gianni Infantino over the so-called “Balogun case,” while warnings had emerged from the European body about a possible offensive to oust the FIFA president if Argentina were to become champions again.

Despite these precedents, El Xokas portrayed the national team as a beneficiary of the organization and used that accusation to attempt to legitimize insults against Argentinians.

This is not the first time the streamer has been involved in a controversy related to the country. During the World Cup, he took an Argentine jersey and rubbed it on his genitals live. Initially, he claimed he would not retract, but the massive backlash on social media ultimately forced him to backtrack.

“I want to apologize to all Argentinians for what I have done,” he expressed then. However, his new statements showed that the retraction lasted little. Weeks after trying to close the scandal, El Xokas attacked millions of Argentinians again and presented unfounded accusations about the national team's performance.
